Whether we like to admit it or not, we have all found ourselves completely enamored with at least one 'mainstream' single. While these songs are not necessarily the most well composed, or even creative, they are catchy and usually hard to forget. Though some popular artists are exceptionally talented, many music enthusiasts would protest, assuring that such artists are in fact mediocre and an embarrassment to the industry. It would be fallacious to say that these shunned artists have not left their mark on the music industry though. Many have actually inspired covers, and lucky for us, the imitation is oftentimes better than the original.
