You Don't Know Jersey...

and you should know Glen Rock, New Jersey's very own Titus Andronicus. Named after Shakespeare's beloved classic, the band, composed of Eric Harm, Amy Klein, David Robbins, Patrick Stickles, and Julian Veronesi, deliver a sound part punk, power pop, and lo-fi all in one. In this video for "No Future Part Three: Escape From no Future," the band takes you all across the garden state, and you get a feel of what it's all about. Check out Titus Andronicus in a town near you this year.

Wiz Khalifa - Cabin Fever (Mixtape)

Wiz might be the only artist I've known to tweet about his new mixtape...and paste a short link for the download! Well, we love the new tracks, which sound a bit different than what he's been putting out. It's a little bit more sinister, and features some crazy collaborations, including two from Big Sean. What's not to like? Listen to a few here:

La Roux-In For the Kill (Skillex Remix)

As most of you know, HiFi loves dubstep. This new track's got all the right grooves and sounds to get you wanting to two step out on the floor. LA house and dubstep musician Sonny Moore, a.k.a. Skrillex, has been around for quite some time now after being the guitarist for From First to Last, who made an appearance on the Vans Warped Tour. Since '08, Skrillex has been DJing around at LA clubs, and was on tour with Deadmau5 in late 2010. Here he is with a tasty remix of La Roux's In For the Kill that offers so much more than just a remix, but a platter of sounds to keep you satisfied.

Queen of Rockability

In 2009, Wanda Jackson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an early influence. As a teenager in the 1950's, Jackson played a pivotal role in the progression of modern music, particularly where female artists were concerned. More significantly, Jackson was the first woman to perform risqué rock and roll. She also dated Elvis Presley for a short period of time. Now, at the age of seventy-three, she surprised the music industry with her latest album release. Primarily covers, The Party Ain’t Over is an eclectic tribute to Bob Dylan and other notable artists. Check out her phenomenal cover of Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good".

Check out the band Yuck, composed of five Londoners, with two of them (Max Bloom and Daniel Blumburg) from the short-lived band Cajun Dance Party. The sound is highly reminiscent of 90s underground with a great flair for the tasty Brit pop of the late 1960s. Without a doubt, this band is refreshing. Not the robotic sound of techno beats (nothing wrong there) blaring into your headphones that ultimately leave you wanting to roam through your vinyl collections. Here, this is a band that is well on their way to become masters of their own craft, infectious riffs, and catchy melodies. Yuck's music is far from it's name, it's like one drawn-out daydream. For once, the band with a retrospective sound that isn't from yesteryear has landed. The sound is very modern, and proves the point that modern doesn't have to equal a Korg drum and bass machine.

A few EPs and 7"s later, this band is finally getting some well-deserved buzz in the US. Check out the song "Georgia," which has been making the rounds for sometime, however, their self-titled album is due to hit February 2011.

Baby Ruthless

One of our favorite duos is back with new material. The Kills, Jamie Hince (boyfriend of Kate Moss) and Alison Mosshart, produce some of the most dynamic, well-written music we've ever heard. Alison is also apart of the Dead Weather, touring the United States with rock legend Jack White. Like previous albums, The Kills upcoming album Blood Pressures has already mesmerized fans with it's obscure yet chic sound. On April 5th, the album is set to release, but in the mean time check out their first new single, Satellite.

What's Yours is Mine

After the Cold War Kids sophomore album Loyalty to Loyalty released, we dreamt the band would follow with another successful album. Three years later, the group is set to release their third album. Avid fans beware, although the album is relatively well composed, it is unlike any other the group has produced. Diverging from their typical, melancholy anthems, the band significantly altered their sound. Nonetheless, check out the rest of Mine is Yours this coming Tuesday!

Friday

It's not often we hear about talented bands from small Floridian towns, but indie group Viernes is a clear exception. Signed to the same record label as Grizzly Bear and countless other alternative genre artists, the young duo released their debut album Sinister Devices over this past summer, and since then, have encountered numerous concert opportunities. More recently, the two performed with Caribou and Blackbird Blackbird.

Ahh, The Strokes. One of music's most influential and talented groups. It's a shame they haven't released an album since 2006. Lucky for us, however, bassist Nikolai Fraiture has publicly confirmed that the band's fourth work will be released on March 22nd. Additionally, Fraiture told press that, "sonically, I feel it's the album which should have been made between Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth." The yet-to-be-named LP is said to be 10-songs long, and the group is rumored to be going on tour shortly after the album's release. Needless to say, we cannot wait!

Unconventional

The creative collaboration between international superstar DJ's Sam Spiegel and Ze Gonzales is one between continents. Spiegel grew up surrounded by music -his brother was a music producer. But music was not just a hobby for him either. In 2006, Sam produced the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' second album, Show Your Bones. Gonzales, on the other hand, is a professional skateboarder and also influenced the Brazilian club scene during the 1980's, playing what was then strange hip-hop. Then, in the 90's, Ze was member of the trans-genre group Planet Hemp. After releasing their debut album The Spirit Of The Apollo in early 2009, the two continued to experiment with their music. Together, Sam and Ze feature a large number of international pop stars for numerous unusual and unique collaborations, thus compelling many to note the duo's imminent stardom.

Kudos to You

After a brief hiatus, Surf City resurfaced in the fall of 2010 with their latest album, Kudos. With their West Coast sounding pop and intense instrumentals, similar to those of Pearl Jam, the four New Zealanders bring a fresh face to their local music industry. We Americans seem to love it too.

Less than twenty-four hours ago, the beloved band, The Decemberists, released their highly anticipated sixth studio album. Lyrically, the album is melancholy, but the songs themselves emanate a  folky and upbeat sound.
